What does a website cost?
A business website starts at 1,200 euros net, a larger presence at 2,200 euros net. What your project costs depends on scope, content and features. This page sets out how the price comes together — including how it is calculated and how payment works.
The three tiers
All figures are entry prices, not flat rates. They mark where a project of this kind begins.
Business website
For sole traders, craft businesses, practices and associations
from 1,200 € net
that is 1,428 € gross
The usual scope for a business that wants to be found online and receive enquiries.
- 5 to 7 pages: home, services, about, references, contact, imprint, privacy
- Individual, responsive design rather than a template
- Contact form with validation, spam protection and a privacy notice
- Basic SEO and a Google Business Profile
- Hosting and domain set up, handover included
Website with a larger scope
For mid-sized companies with several services, locations or audiences
from 2,200 € net
that is 2,618 € gross
The same structure, but more pages, more architecture and considerably more coordination.
- Everything in the business website
- More pages and a more complex site structure
- More concept work and more rounds of feedback
- Extended work on copy, images and structure
Add-on packages
Brand design, SEO, process automation, digital marketing
from 500 € net each
that is 595 € gross
Available on their own, usually commissioned alongside a website.
- Brand design: logo, colours and typefaces as one coherent system
- SEO: audit, keyword and competitor research, prioritised measures
- Automation: one clearly defined process from analysis to handover
- Marketing: editorial plan, templates in your brand design, reporting
- An online shop is calculated separately and starts at 1,000 € net on top
All prices are net, plus 19 % German VAT. The gross figures are shown alongside because not every client can reclaim input tax.
The offers are aimed at companies, self-employed people and associations, that is at traders within the meaning of § 14 of the German Civil Code.
What your price is made of
Five factors decide the effort involved. They are also the levers for bringing a quote down.
Scope of the site
A single long home page, five pages or ten are not the same job with a different price tag but differently sized projects. Every page needs structure, design and content.
Content: copy and images
The single biggest lever. If you bring your own copy and images, you pay around 10 per cent less. If content has to be created, add roughly 15 per cent; an editing area for maintaining it yourself around 30 per cent.
Features
Appointment booking, an online shop, additional languages or a protected area are separate building blocks. The shop is calculated separately, an additional language adds roughly 30 to 40 per cent to the content work.
Visibility
Sound technology, structure and metadata are part of every website package. Once the goal is to move up on contested search terms, that becomes work of its own over months — and is quoted separately.
Support afterwards
Hosting and domain run through your own contracts or are passed on at cost. Maintenance and small changes are available as an optional monthly arrangement, for example one hour a month. Nothing obliges you to take it.
Costing and payment
So that the figures above can be followed, here is the basis behind them.
A fixed price, not a timesheet
Every package is derived from a costed effort: concept, structure, build, content, testing and handover are calculated separately and appear as line items in the quote. What you pay is still the fixed price agreed. If something takes longer than planned, that is our risk and not your invoice.
50 per cent at the start, 50 per cent on acceptance
Payment terms are 14 days. The binding fixed price is agreed after the first conversation and before the project starts — so you know what it costs before any cost arises.
No hidden items
Anything not in the quote is not charged. If something is added during the project, it gets its own quote beforehand rather than an extra invoice afterwards.
What will your project cost?
The project assistant walks through the questions above in a few minutes and ends with a range — net and gross, non-binding and without signing up.
